Love this little rustic/vintage thing you're doing. This is an excellent shot. I'm not sure it's a sharpening stone... those would normally be attached to a foot pedal to keep the stone spinning while the knife was being sharpened.. however, I've been wrong a time or two. Otherwise, no idea what it could be unless they used it for grinding wheat?

@Nick: Thanks! It's pretty much pumping up the contrast and lower the saturation. I also added a split tone over the original colors.

This is an old sharpening stone, which is missing the lower wooden construction, that was holding water, and is missing the handle for turning the stone wheel. As the handle was turning the wheel,the wheel was getting wet in the lower construction, that was supported on 4 wooden legs. The son was turning the wheel and the father was doing the sharpening.
